Mortgage Buddy Privacy Policy

Effective date: 13 October 2026

Mortgage Buddy (“the app”) is an offline mortgage payment calculator. This policy explains how the app handles information. In short: unless you choose to create an account, the app does not collect or transmit any personal data. We never sell or share your data, show ads, or track you.

Information we collect

Without an account: none. The app has no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no tracking. It does not access your location, contacts, camera, photos, microphone, or any other device data.

With an optional account: only what is needed to back up and restore your details, described below.

Optional account and cloud backup

You can choose to sign in so your mortgage details are backed up and can be restored on another device. The app works fully without an account.

Information stored on your device

The numbers you enter (such as home price, interest rate, and loan term) and your currency preference are saved locally on your device so they are still there the next time you open the app. Unless you sign in to the optional backup, this information never leaves your device and is excluded from device cloud backups. You can delete it at any time by tapping “Reset to defaults” in the app or by uninstalling the app.

Contacting the developer

The app’s menu has buttons to request a feature or report a bug. These open your own email app with a pre-filled message, including the app version and your device’s operating system (for example “Android 15”), which you can edit or remove before sending. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email. If you do, your email address and message are used only to reply to you and to improve the app, and are never sold or shared.

Network access

The app works offline. When your device is online, the app occasionally downloads a small public file from our server to check whether a newer version is available or required. This request contains no personal information, account, or identifier, and we do not store IP addresses. Unless you use the optional backup, nothing you enter in the app is sent.
